India’s Starting 11 for the 2019 ICC World Cup

The highly anticipated 2019 ICC World Cup, which will be co-hosted by both England and Wales, kicks off on 30 May to 14 July 2019. It will feature ten teams, which are: India, England, Wales, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, South Africa, Bangladesh, Australia, Afghanistan and West Indies. It will be played on a round robin basis, meaning all participating teams are set to play each other once in a single group.

A serving of 45 sumptuous matches is in the offing for the ardent cricket fans. The top 4 teams shall square it out in the semifinals, with the winners facing each other in the finals.

The Indian team is looking to win the tournament for the third time in history. Led by Virat Kohli, the new captain, the team is preparing in earnest to recapture the gong. Here is India’s probably 11 for the ICC World Cup 2019.

Virat Kohli has been tasked with steering the team. He shall be deputized by Robot Dharma, arguably the one day format’s most lethal opener. Sharma already has three centuries to his name. It remains to be seen whether he shall add a third in the world cup.

Other members of the Indian Squad include Shikhar Dhawan, Wicketkeeper MS Dhoni, Dinesh Karthik, reserve wicketkeeper; Hardik Pandya; Kedar Jadhav; Kuldeep Jadav; Buvneshwar Kumar; Jasprit Bumrah and Yuzvendra Chahal. Others are KL Rahul, Ambati Rayudu, Mohammed Shami Ahmed and Ravindra Jadeja.

The technical bench also has the option of calling on board the likes of R Ashwin, Yuvraj Singh, and Suresh Raina. Nevertheless, the team already called is good to go.
